Shadow Workers
&
THE MOON
BEGINNING WITH THE DARK MOON
SHADOW WORKERS AND THE MOON ...
IS A LUNAR PRACTICE IN WHICH WE SOURCE OUR INTENTIONS FOR EACH SPIRAL RETURN BASED ON OUR DISCOVERIES IN THE UNDERWORLD ( DARK MOON ) IN COMMUNION WITH OUR SHADOW SELF.
GOALS +
+TO RECOGNIZE THE SHADOW BEYOND THE HIDDEN OR REPRESSED SELF, BUT ALSO AS THE ASPECT OF SELF THAT IS IN CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP AND PROXIMITY TO OUR ANCESTORS, THEIR GUIDANCE, AND OUR AUTHENTIC SELVES
+ RATHER THAN USING THE MOON TO MANIFEST, WHICH CAN STILL BE APART OF YOUR PRACTICE, Dark Moon Shadow Work APPROACHES MOON WORK INSPIRED FROM THE OLD WAYS.
-
THAT THE PROCESS OF TENDING OUR ROOTS WILL OPEN DOORWAYS, POTENTIAL AND SKILLS WE COULD NOT ACCESS UNLESS WE DO THE WORK.
+ SOMETIMES OUR OWN DESIRES CAN BE HIDDEN FROM US, WHETHER THROUGH SOCIAL CONDITIONING, SURVIVAL, OR PROJECTIONS. WE CAN BEGIN TO REVEAL OUR INTENTIONS THROUGH RITUAL, JOURNEYING, ART, EXPERIMENTATION. THE SAFEST PLACE TO START IS WITHIN OUR BODIES AND OUR UNCONSCIOUS, WITH SHADOW AS OUR GUIDE.

FOCUS
++++
Each individual's relationship to their shadow and how it presents to us will be incredibly unique. While there are some syncronicisties, and simlirities we will find that we share with one another, how we percieve the language of our shadow is complex and nuanced.
This course is a foundational guide. It is an evolving work that I have practived over several years and share with my students to learn and adapt to their own practice as needed.
There is no right way to engage with your shadow. The rituals, writings and spell works are designed to activate your own creative practice within the work.

The Evolution of Shadow Workers
I do not necesssary consider myself a Jungian mystic. While I recongize the obvious parellel and syncronicities, ( it is a little impossible not to aknowledge his works ) there are several contribuiting factors and expericnes that have shaped this study.
This experience of repeated death and walking with one's shadow was highly influenced by my studies and readings under three key writers and practitioners. Phoenix Elder of Elder Mountain Dreaming - her writings inspired me to follow the spiral and reincorporate slavic folk practices. Sarah Faith Gottesdiener's Moon Workbook was my first encounter with organized moon study and I owe a lot of my learned structure from her materials. Clarissa Pinkola Esté's writings opened the door to a deeper relationship to Baba Yaga and of course the bridging of psychoanalytical studies and folklore.
I have been in therapy since I was 12 years old and am a recovering addict. Self evolution has followed me most of my life whether I was willing or not. I learn and create from my experiences, and many of them have been processed in therapy. I currently am utilizing EMDR therapies which parellel my journey work and meditation practice.
From 2020 - 2022 I studied under Matthew Venus of Spiritus Arcanum through two of his online courses and my graduate thesis from Cranbrook Academy of Art from 2016-2018 was spent studying and creating works in response to the modern resurgence of The Witch archetype and their satirical relationship to the photographic lens and social media.
And of course, the Moon themself, who brought out the most wild of myself from an early age. My experiences at the time were mistaken as panic attacks so I grew up believing I was terrified of the void. In my early 20's I began to understand how Fear was a teacher in spiraling repeat, and unending deaths.
